Location: Needham Market, Suffolk
Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum
Compass Point Recruitment is supporting a small local manufacturing company in search of a hands-on Production Manager to lead and coordinate their metal fabrication operations.
We are looking for someone practical with strong hands-on experience in metal fabrication, including Punch & Press Brakes and welding, who can solve problems on the shop floor, train, and lead the team. This is an ideal role for someone who takes pride in their work and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead daily production operations, ensuring targets and deadlines are met
• Quote accurately for new jobs
• Mentor and guide shop floor staff on best practices, quality, and safety
• Actively participate in production tasks to support the team
• Identify production issues and implement effective, practical solutions
• Maintain quality assurance standards and ensure adherence to procedures
• Collaborate with management on continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Key Skills & Qualifications:
• Proven experience in production management within metal fabrication or manufacturing
• Strong practical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve workshop issues (CAD Punch & Press Brakes, Welding, Fabrication)
• Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities
