A Case Study for OCO Technology

Oco

Annette is delighted to have been working with O.C.O Technology, a successful carbon capture, sustainable construction products and waste treatment business based in Brandon, Suffolk with three factories in the UK and other operations around the globe.

Why Annette?

Annette has successfully completed several different recruitment projects for O.C.O Technology over the years including their Financial Controller who has since been promoted to Finance Director and most recently for a Finance Analyst.

Specialist Knowledge required!

Due to the success of the organisation, O.C.O Technology needed to expand their finance team to include someone who could support their FD, Jon Bridge, to provide meaningful financial accounting, planning and analysis information. Having worked with O.C.O Technology for over 7 years throughout her tenure at Compass Point Recruitment, Annette was already familiar with the culture and structure in place, so was in the perfect position to understand this newest brief and utilise her local market knowledge to produce a quality shortlist.

Speaking to her network, Annette identified 3 candidates who would be suitable for this role and so close were her matches that all were selected for interview, each receiving positive feedback and bringing something different to the role. However, with only one vacancy available the successful candidate was selected and offered the role!

Jon Bridge of O.C.O Technology commented:

“I was fortunate enough to meet Annette when she placed me at O.C.O and had no hesitation to work with her again when I needed to recruit resource for my finance team here. I trust Annette implicitly. She is astute and professional. Annette intrinsically understands the ever-changing finance market and has a personable approach which means you are always comfortable to pick up the phone to her”.

About our client: O.C.O Technology

O.C.O Technology is a show case company for sustainability and the circular economy and is one of the top ten companies in the world for carbon capture from an industrialised process. O.C.O now recycles around 26% of the UK Energy from Waste sector’s Air Pollution Control residues (APCr), which makes it the UK’s market leader.

The process is a genuine Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) process which has further benefit in the construction industry. At the three commercial facilities in the UK, APCr is blended with binders and fillers and then pelletised to form a rounded aggregate that has many applications in construction. This product has captured more carbon dioxide than is emitted in its manufacture, resulting in the World’s first carbon negative aggregate!
