Doing an EXPERT job for EXPERT LABELS!
Networking is a fabulous tool in the Recruitment world! You know the story – recruiter meets client and the rest is history!
Going back to the beginning of this story, our Managing Director Rebecca Thurlow joined the networking group Peer to Peer via the New Anglia Growth Hub where she met Miles Green, Managing Director of Expert Labels, a manufacturer of labels, thermal prints and label printing solutions, based in Bury St Edmunds. Introductions were made and Miles later approached Rebecca regarding his need for an additional member in his team.
Rebecca identified the right person for the job was Principal Consultant, Paige O’Connell, who specialises in Sales and Office Support and as Miles was looking for a Sales Administrator - she was the woman for the job!
After a lengthy Teams meeting between Miles, Rebecca and Paige, discussing his criteria, the team fit and plans for the future in the business, it was very quickly identified that what Miles required was going to be somewhat different from his original brief!
With a recent resignation within their Sales department and the upcoming retirement of the longest standing technical member of his team, Paige and Rebecca set to work unpicking Miles’ core requirements and priorities in this role, in order to future proof the business and leave no holes in their processes! With that discussed, we decided the right person would have a technical aptitude and previous sales experience, so they were able to offer support across multiple areas of the business. This would always allow the business to be fluid.
With this being a crucial role within Expert Labels, it was important the advert targeted the right people, so Paige set about selling in the business and outlining the requirements in order of priority for the needs of the business. It was then advertised via our multiple job boards and distributed out to our internal database of candidates. Following this there were 59 applications on the advert with 6 candidates qualified by Paige and making it through to CV send stage.
Following a conversation between Paige and Miles discussing the presented CVs, 3 Zoom interviews were arranged! It was then that Miles made the decision to progress with the strongest candidate for the position and move to a second interview which included the completion of their internal application form as well as a trial afternoon with the team! Paige supported this process between the client and the candidate, arranging suitable times etc. which then led to a fantastic offer from Miles which was accepted by the candidate!
