Job Title: Welder (MIG) Fabricator
Salary: £14.20 - £15.20
Location: Newmarket
Position: Temporary/Permanent Full Time

On behalf of our client, we are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Welder proficient in MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes, the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings, and a commitment to producing high-quality welds.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform MIG welding operations on various metal components and structures.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications to determine the appropriate welding techniques and parameters.
  • Set up welding equipment and select the correct welding tools and materials for each job.
  • Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and bevelling as necessary to ensure proper weld penetration and adhesion.
  • Monitor welding processes and adjust to ensure weld quality and integrity.
  • Inspect welded joints for defects and make necessary repairs or adjustments.
  • Always adhere to safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time and within budget.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Welder with a focus on MIG welding techniques.
  • Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes and welding principles.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
  • Ability to set up and operate MIG welding equipment effectively.
  • Familiarity with various metals and alloys commonly used in welding applications.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid welding certification(s) preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus.
