Compass Point is working with a leading Food manufacturer in their search for a Site Services Engineer for a permanent Night Shift role, Sunday night to Friday morning. This role has been created following a restructure of the department and offers an opportunity to also work with the wider Engineering team in busy periods. This business invest heavily in its staff and facilities having recently completed a £4,000,000 CapEx project to install a new high speed line.

You will be able to demonstrate significant experience in Site Services, ideally in manufacturing although this is not essential. In return you will receive a dedicated personal development plan to further your skill set with continual training to the latest industry standards.

Role Overview

Deliver benchmark plant availability through technical and operational support to the site through improvement work, preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance.

Role Description

React to plant and machine failures, problem solving and repairing in the most effective manner.
Make Safety the number one priority and ensure all plant themselves and others work on is safe and legally compliant.
Adhere to all quality procedures and ensure all critical control points are checked.
Advise, instruct and train plant operators and engineers on new and existing plant and control systems.
Provide an enhanced level of technical expertise to support all areas of site as required.
Participate in plant improvement initiatives and establish best practice.
Work with teams, engineers and contractors to optimise plant performance within budget and operational constraints.
Work to a structured program of routine preventative maintenance.
Assisting in planning work activity and reviewing and improving the preventative maintenance routines
Update maintenance procedures to ensure effective and efficient utilisation of assets.
Identification of parts required, raising orders for them and receipting.
Maintain control spares to suit business requirements
Proactively monitor the condition of systems and plant on site, repair faults where possible or raise works orders to capture work required in the maintenance system
To maintain and be the site responsible person for the HV electrical installation
Set up, manage, and report a utilities metering system to help reduce and prevent waste.

Skills and Qualifications

Apprenticeship or Time-Served experience preferably within a FMCG environment,
Formal electrical/mechanical qualifications NVQ / C&G / ONC/ HNC
Must have good communication and team working skills/qualifications
Experience in managing people will be an advantage
Sound communications skills, verbal, and written.
Capable of PLC interrogation and fault finding.
Strong fault finding and diagnosis skills
HVAP qualification is not a pre-requisite.
