Position: Service Co-Ordinator
Location: Ipswich
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per year
Shifts: Mon - Fri


Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Service Operations Manager and Technical Sales Manager, the Assistant Service Manager will play a crucial role in managing and organising the daily activities of a team of engineers.

The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in supervisory roles within industries such as commercial trucking, automotive, plant engineering, agricultural engineering, or other mechanical engineering service controller positions.

Responsibilities:

• Organising and planning daily activities to meet customer requirements.
• Keeping customers informed of updates on work being carried out and providing support to engineers.
• Collaboration with internal departments to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Managing and organising out-of-hours callouts when required.
• Covering for the Service Operations Manager and Technical Sales Manager in their absence.
• Resolving issues related to customer orders and engineer visits.
• Processing engineers' job cards to create and invoice end users using IT-based systems.
• Utilising management systems and MS tools for daily operations.
• Maintaining flexibility in daily activities and working seamlessly as part of a team.
• Managing customer expectations while delivering excellent customer service.
• Self-motivation to prioritize activities and handle customer queries and issues.
• Processing warranty claims and service and oil analysis reports.
• Providing quotations for planned service and remedial work.
• Liaising with suppliers, ordering parts, and managing materials.

Experience:

• Knowledge and understanding of IT, with confidence in using Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel.
• Ability to learn and use various management systems.
• Strong multitasking skills in a busy environment.
• Adaptability to changing workloads and flexibility to suit department needs.
• Self-motivation to work within a team.
• Confidence in communicating and dealing with customers, manufacturers, and staff in a professional manner, both face-to-face and through various communication channels.
