Join our leading engineering client based in Suffolk as a Global Service & Commissioning Engineer. This dynamic role involves substantial global travel and offers a unique opportunity to be part of our dedicated Service Team. Working from their Suffolk headquarters, you will play a pivotal role in delivering top-tier technical expertise in the field. Expect to spend approximately 50% of your working time traveling both in the UK and around the world.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct equipment commissioning and operator training at various international sites.
- Perform necessary repairs and preventive maintenance as required.
- Proactively support customers by offering technical assistance and training.
- Provide technical support via phone and email.
- Collaborate closely with the service manager to ensure optimal customer satisfaction.
- Work in collaboration with our distributor channels to enhance their knowledge and capabilities.
- Engage in knowledge sharing and problem-solving with team members.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of equipment operation and maintenance.
- Maintain meticulous service records for each assignment.

Qualifications and Skills:

The ideal candidate should be an apprentice-trained Plant Fitter/Engineer from sectors such as construction, agriculture, industry, or the military, with extensive experience in servicing, maintaining, and repairing electrical and hydraulic machinery.

Key skills include:

- Previous experience in a Field Service Engineering role is essential.
- Proficiency in heavy plant machinery operation.
- Knowledge of auto-electrics, diesel engines, hydraulics, and control systems.
- Ability to interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams for diagnostic purposes.
- Computer literacy, with a working knowledge of MS Office products.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team player with a high level of confidence and trustworthiness.
- Strong technical engineering background.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.

Qualifications

- Ideally, minimum of five years' experience in heavy plant maintenance.
- Possession of the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test CSCS Card is preferred.
- A full UK Driver's License is essential
