The Scheduling Planner will be responsible for developing daily and weekly production schedules to ensure the timely achievement of production deadlines while promptly addressing scheduling issues as they arise.
Your Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Developing a comprehensive production schedule that encompasses all tasks to meet customer promised dates.
• Analysing back orders, current orders, and upcoming orders to prioritise, plan, and schedule production operations.
• Supporting the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process to manage forecast demand in production and communicate it to internal stakeholders.
• Promptly communicating any changes to current production schedules to relevant departments.
• Monitoring the progress of manufacturing to ensure adherence to the schedule and escalating issues to the Head of Operations when necessary.
• Organising and preparing Works Orders while ensuring their accurate reflection within the ERP system.
• Managing and tracking stock transfers occurring outside the standard process.
• Overseeing Kanban reconciliations.
• Reviewing and assessing data related to plan attainment.
• Understanding and accurately recording any production downtime in the schedule.
• Collaborating with the New Product Development team to plan and schedule prototypes, if available hours permit.
• Participating in, creating, and driving lean initiatives within your area of responsibility.
• Engaging in any reasonable activities to support the growth and profitability of the business while aligning with the business goals and objectives.
• Maintaining the highest levels of Health and Safety standards at all times.
• Developing ideas and strategies to enhance operational efficiency, add value, improve business performance, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
• Supporting and closely collaborating within the team to ensure performance meets agreed-upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Cross-training in all other supply chain departments.
• Contributing to the establishment of internal minimum stock holdings and batch sizes.
You possess the following:
Skills:
• Experience in planning/scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
• Motivation, a proactive attitude, and a willingness to acquire new skills and advance within the company as opportunities arise.
• Proficiency in using MRP/ERP systems.
• Ability to use various Microsoft tools, including Excel.
• Experience in maintaining manufacturing documentation.
• Strong oral and written communication skills that are clear and persuasive.
• Commercial and financial awareness.
• Background of stock control (ideal)
• Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
