A renowned manufacturer located just outside of Bury St Edmunds is seeking a Purchase Ledger/Accounts Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Assistant Accountant and working alongside a wider team, the responsibilities for this role include:

Purchase Ledger Duties:

  • Processing invoices promptly and efficiently
  • Matching purchase orders to invoices and GRNs as appropriate
  • Processing employee expenses in line with company policy
  • Investigating purchase ledger queries with suppliers and relevant internal departments to minimize delays in invoice processing
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Preparing and processing supplier payment runs and emailing remittance advices
  • Filing purchase invoices and supplier statements
  • Assisting with month-end processing
  • Regularly reviewing aged creditor reports to ensure the accuracy of the purchase ledger

Accounts Assistant Duties:

  • Assisting with sales ledger duties as needed
  • Assisting with cash management duties as needed
  • Assisting with daily and weekly reporting as needed
  • Assisting with daily time and attendance system queries as needed
  • Performing other general finance office duties as directed
