Compass Point Recruitment are proud to be working with a fantastic company based in Thetford for a Production Controller/Planner.

At the core of our client's operations lies production, where meticulous planning and control are paramount. From orchestrating raw material flow to overseeing profile generation and small assemblies for inventory, to ensuring optimal labour allocation, this role is the nerve centre of their heavy production line.

The ideal candidate will possess an acute awareness of material and fabrication whereabouts, overseeing job statuses and expediting processes even to subcontractors if necessary. Thriving in a dynamic environment, they will oversee heavy builds from inception to completion.

Essential Skills:
• Strong understanding and ability to process technical knowledge.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with MRP software, particularly LN, is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Methodical and detail-oriented work ethic.
• Persistent and passionate.
• Able to work under pressure
• Experience within an engineering manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborating closely with the Production Manager, and another Planner/Controller, as well as the heavy manufacturing supervisors to ensure the timely and efficient production of the heavy product line.
• Generating production orders for internally manufactured items.
• Participating in monthly production meetings to provide insights on material availability and project progress, addressing any arising issues.
• Coordinating with the IT Manager to enhance LN for planning purposes.
• Assessing priorities alongside the Production Manager and other Planner, considering resources and subcontractors.
• Addressing material supply challenges across various production departments, investigating and implementing sustainable solutions.
• Supporting the Production Manager with any associated production planning tasks as needed.

The salary for this position is circa £28k, with the working hours between 8.30am-5pm (including a 30 minute lunch).

Your holiday allowance starts at 20 days, increasing after 2 years of service, as well as the introduction of a death in service scheme. Your pay will be reviewed yearly in December, and you will be involved in a profit-related sharing scheme.
