Are you experienced within packaging from an NPD or Technical perspective? Are you passionate about working for a cross functional and inclusive team?

We are currently working with a leading own labelled food manufacturer that are looking for a Packaging Technologist to focus on projects, innovation and compliance.

The role will be based predominantly from home with two days in the office but accommodation can be provided for the night you are away from home.

Reporting to the Technical Manager this role will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities include:

To accurately maintain the company's master data for all packaging (primary, secondary and tertiary).
Project management including running of the bi-weekly packaging project meetings.
To self-manage the completion of tasks to ensure the company accurately reports packaging waste information.
To maintain good working relationships with supplying sites to enable the sharing of information and best practice across the supply base.
To keep the business and supplying sites updated on packaging specific policies including any changes to legislation.
To identify and action opportunities to reduce and remove excess packaging or increase efficiency.
To build successful relationships with customers; suppliers; artwork houses; printers
To provide support to colleagues within the technical function.
To ensure that all product packaging is safe, legal, decent honest and truthful and meets agreed quality criteria within the technical specification.
To accurately maintain specific project trackers and reporting tools.
The ideal candidate:

Demonstrates a high degree of attention to detail, thoroughness, and a methodical approach to work.
Minimum 2 years in similar role within an FMCG environment.
Knowledge of food contact packaging types and plastic substrates.
Knowledge and understanding of current packaging legislation and upcoming changes is desirable.
Strong research abilities.
Establish and maintain working relationships with others.
Ability to present information in a clear, concise, and accurate manner
To collaborate and effectively run packaging project meetings.
The ability to work effectively under pressure in this fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated and organised.
Ability to multitask and prioritise workload.
