Compass Point has partnered with a leading, family owned, food business in their search for additional Engineering team member. This is a highly automated factory offering a chance to really develop your PLC skills. You will be electrically biassed with strong fault finding experience on a variety of PLC systems.

Ideally apprentice trained, you will be working in a team of 3 per shift with a focus on reliability and continuous improvement. The business operates a Panama shift system of Days and Nights (2s & 3s), meaning you will get a long weekend every 2 weeks (Friday, Saturday & Sunday off).

Core duties:

• General workshop duties such as providing breakdown cover for the factory and carrying out general engineering tasks safely and unaided
• Part of a technical team engaged in maintaining and repairing physical structures and utility systems of buildings and maintaining grounds utilising the company preventative maintenance software systems
• Carries out repairs and maintenance work and routine testing to all Company buildings including subsidiary buildings and Company equipment and plant
• Maintaining an adequate level of workshop spares to meet the production requirements and contributing to stock control requirements for an allocated area
• Completing planned maintenance work orders.
• Ensuring all auditable paper work is completed and filed correctly.
• Receive and issue site/hot permits to work.
• Demonstrate a proactive approach to maintenance and assist in the development of preventative maintenance mechanisms.
• Understand and support KPI improvements
