We are seeking an experienced and skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our client's team, responsible for ensuring the continuous operation and longevity of their production equipment. This role will focus on the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) of heavy machinery, minimising production downtime while maximising plant efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar environment, such as a FMCG, and be adept in working with mechanical and electrical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct routine scheduled maintenance and respond promptly to equipment faults and failures.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical breakdowns, ensuring quick resolution to minimize downtime.
• Install, repair, and maintain new machinery parts, ensuring all equipment operates effectively and efficiently.
• Manage maintenance tools, stores, and spare parts inventory.
• Respond to emergencies and unplanned maintenance issues in a timely and effective manner.
• Adhere to and continually improve health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Operate and maintain specialist equipment, such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and test equipment.
• Provide continuous machinery cover, ensuring quick action in case of breakdowns to reduce production interruptions.
• Work independently or as part of a team on both electrical and mechanical systems to support plant operations.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Time-served Engineer with relevant electrical and mechanical qualifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar environment (FMCG, or heavy machinery).
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and repair both mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
• Experience working with PLCs and other control systems.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards within an industrial setting.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Additional Requirements:
• Flexibility to respond to emergencies outside of standard working hours if required.
• A proactive approach to improving equipment efficiency and reliability.

This is a daytime shift, with a salary of circa £45k.
