Compass Point Recruitment are proud to be partnering with a fantastic local manufacturer, for the recruitment of a Mechanical Fitter.

You will join a manufacturing team where your technical skills and attention to detail will be highly valued.

This role involves building, assembling, and maintaining machinery. An ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, with additional electrical knowledge being highly desirable. Experience in operating and troubleshooting machines will be a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assemble, install, and maintain a variety of machinery used in the manufacturing process.
• Rebuild and refurbish machinery as needed, ensuring optimal performance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently.
• Conduct wiring and electrical tasks associated with machinery, if applicable.
• Utilise various hand and power tools to perform tasks accurately and safely.
• Operate machinery to test performance and ensure correct assembly.
• Collaborate with other team members to improve workflow and efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, following all safety protocols.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical skills with the ability to read and interpret technical assembly drawings and manuals.
• Electrical knowledge and experience with wiring are highly desirable.
• Familiarity with operating and troubleshooting various types of machinery.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
• Willingness to occasionally work overtime to support team needs.

• Competitive salary, circa £35k, with flexibility for the right candidate.
• 26 days annual leave (3 must go towards Christmas) + bank holidays
• 9am-5pm | Monday to Friday
