I am working with an established and reputable business based in Bury St Edmunds, who is looking to recruit a Logistics and Customs Administrator to their team!

A crucial role within the business, the Logistics & Customs Administrator's primary function is to ensure incoming and outgoing goods arrive on time and in full, with all the appropriate documentation.

A pivotal role, you will also work closely with internal departments, to ensure that customer and stake holder requirements are met and the business remains legally compliant.

Main Responsibilities:

•Booking freight, containers and obtaining bookings for overseas production and purchases, including liaising with our freight forwarder partners
•Co-ordinate the supply of relevant export / import paperwork required by out freight forwarder
•Develop and maintaining relationships with key external stakeholders
•Ensure orders/deliveries are being met by;
oArranging daily dispatch of goods via hauliers and couriers
oMaintaining records of haulier costs and competitive quotes
oSigning off invoices for hauliers and couriers
•Assist in the creation of policies or procedures for logistic activities
•Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports and exports or customer issues
•Work with your line manager on streamlining the process of all stock movements
•Negotiate transportation rates/services
•Analyses the financial impact of proposed logistics changes. Such as routeing, shipping modules, product volumes or mixes or carriers and storage
•Assist Commercial Operations Manager in preparing mixing schedules based on sales forecast
•Prepare production Instructions and print labels for both stock and special mixes
•Maintain stock control of labels
•Liaise daily with goods out on pallet loading, daily dispatch volumes and paperwork
•Accurately collect and record relevant dispatch information onto the CRM system as required
•Ensure dispatches are inputted into the web-based computer systems within deadline time

Communication:

A substantial part of Logistics Administration is communicating relevant, pertinent information is a timely, polite and convenient way. Below are the key areas of communication focus for this role.
•Maintaining good working relationships with key business partners, such as hauliers, couriers and freight forwarders.
•Communicate with UK growers on behalf of Production Manager to arrange collection of goods
•Communicate with stakeholder here and abroad as part of the management of the import / export process.
•Communicate effectively with other departments to effectively deal with challenges as they arise, as well build the wider company understanding of, and to help integrate, logistics with business systems and processes. For example, providing training to incoming team members.

Additional Information:

•Salary: £24,000-£28,000 Depending on experience
•Hours will be 37.5 8.30-5pm Monday Friday (although there is a shift pattern' in place at the moment due to Covid, so 7.30 4pm or 8.30 5pm, alternating each week)
