Local medium-sized East Anglian based Accountancy Practice are seeking a General Practice Senior to strengthen their existing team.

This role is available due to the growth of the business and they are ideally seeking an AAT/ATT Qualified candidate, or someone very close to qualification with previous General Practice experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking a variety of General Practice assignments including accounts preparation and tax compliance services for a range business clients including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

Key duties will include:

Fully accountability for the provision of accounting services including corporate and personal tax returns and special services for a portfolio of clients
Producing VAT returns and providing an in depth knowledge and advice service to clients
P11D production and other payroll advice and services
Client payroll processing for the local office, dealing with queries as they arise
Assisting clients with accounting software queries
CIS returns and processing and certificates
Assisting with audits as required
Taking responsibility for the planning, performance and preparation of draft accounts and tax computations for manager or partner review
Providing projections and forecasting information
Raising bills
Processing client records to draft accounts stage
Completing file sections and cross referencing schedules
Preparing and submitting Confirmation Statement and other Companies House forms
Mentoring, supervising and coaching junior staff assigned and contribute to non-client work
Reviewing work of junior staff, ensuring quality in compliance with professional standards / requirements

Additionally you will be:

Developing client relationships, including regular client contact by telephone, meetings and electronically and identifying opportunities for additional services
Attending networking events

To be successful in your application you will be AAT/ATT Qualified (or equivalent) or be close to qualification. You will have previous Accountancy Practice experience and have good working knowledge of UK GAAP and the disclosures required for both small and medium sized companies. Great communication skills are essential together with the ability to work in a team or independently. You should also be comfortable communicating to clients about their financials and business procedures when needed.

Hours for the role are 9.00 a.m. 5.30 pm, Monday - Friday however there is some degree of flexibility with working hours, as long as core hours are covered.
