We are thrilled to be working with an established and well-respected supplier into the food processing industry, who are looking for a Field Sales Manager to join their team.

As Field Sales Manager you will be based on the road 3 days a week & office based 2 days, representing a market leading manufacturer of industrial moving, lifting, and handling equipment into the food and pharmaceutical industries.

The Role:

• To be product champion for this highly respected range of equipment. You will have overall responsibility for managing the day to day sales activities, to generate the required level of sales turnover and profitability for the Company.
• Although the role will be highly autonomous, you will report directly to the Sales Director.
• The target market segments and customers will be defined clearly and you will have a large say in determining your strategy and working methods.
• A person with experience of this type of lifting and handling equipment and / or selling capital equipment into the food processing and pharmaceutical manufacturing industries, is preferred but not essential.
• Their intention is to provide excellent levels of support for their existing customers and maximize all opportunities for repeat business. In addition, they need to generate new sales revenue from previously untapped sources.

You will follow a clearly defined and structured training plan combining office and field based activities. The training period will include the following:

• Product and application training
• Accompanied customer visits
• Supplier visits and training
• CRM system
• Internal procedures and systems including sales reporting
• Specific projects, targets, and objectives

Specific responsibilities include:

• Market research
• Telephone prospecting
• Customer visits and meetings
• Achieve required levels of customer visits on a weekly basis
• Manage time and resources to achieve required sales and profitability targets
• Setting up and over seeing customer trials, both at on and off, to include delivery, installation, and customer training
• Sending sales intro' letters and literature packs
• Writing and sending targeted area mail shots (letters and e-mails), including telephone follow ups
• Liaising with suppliers about specific projects
• Learning about equipment range and suppliers
• Promoting the full product range to your customers and prospects
• Assist with machine installations
• Assist with machine faults and breakdowns, both on and off, as and when requested

The Package

Completely open for discussion with the right applicant but will include salary, commission, bonus scheme and car or car allowance.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £25,000-£35,000 (DOE) with an OTE of between £10,000-£15,000
