A well-established business located in the heart of Bury St Edmunds is actively seeking a Credit Controller to join their team on a 3 month or 6-month contractual basis!

As a Credit Controller, you'll oversee the entire credit control process, from communication and chasing overdue accounts to managing risk through credit checks and limit reviews.

Daily duties include:

  • Ensure timely payments are received.
  • Process incoming funds (cash allocations).
  • Proactively follow up with on overdue accounts and payment promises via written and verbal communication.
  • Regularly send statements, reminders and accounting status updates to customers.
  • Run credit checks and review credit limits.
  • Process authorised credit applications.
  • Ensure that any approved credits are raised in a timely fashion.
  • Action credit note returns.
  • Create and maintain strong customer relationships and regular communication.
  • Work collaboratively with Sales and Customer Services departments to resolve any customer queries through strong relationship building.
  • Maintain accurate customer master data.
  • Process ad-hoc tasks such as write offs and card payments.
  • Actively review and action queries and tasks in the Credit Control email inbox.
  • Ensure GDPR compliance at all stages of the Credit Control process, escalating any concerns or risks to the European Financial Controller.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel for data organisation, be adaptable to new systems and adept at tailoring communication for different audiences, with a focus on enhancing process efficiency and customer experience in credit control.
