Compass Point Recruitment is recruiting for a well-established local manufacturing business known for its commitment to quality and innovation.

We are seeking a talented and creative CAD Designer to join their team. As a CAD Designer, you will be responsible for creating detailed drawings and technical specifications for our manufacturing processes. Working both independently and collaboratively with other managers internally, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of their products.

Key Responsibilities:
• Utilize CAD software to create 2D and 3D models of products, components, and assemblies.
• Generate accurate technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing purposes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop prototypes and iterate designs based on feedback and testing results.
• Continuously assess and improve existing designs for functionality, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
• Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders, including managers and production staff, to understand project requirements and coordinate design efforts.
• Maintain thorough documentation of design iterations, revisions, and project milestones.
• Assist in quality control processes by reviewing prototypes and finished products to identify and resolve design issues.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programs.
• Experience in manufacturing or product design, with a strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to create precise and accurate technical drawings and specifications.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of identifying design challenges and proposing effective solutions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
• Team Player: Comfortable working independently as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams. Ideally leading a team, or being able to show experience of formulating your own work plan each day to meet business requirements
• Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
