Procurement Specialist for Construction Materials
Location: Haverhill
Salary: Circa £25,000 - £30,000 per annum

A leading contractor in the construction industry, committed to delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget, currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Price Negotiation & Terms: Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery dates with suppliers to secure the best possible deals.
• Purchase Order Management: Place Purchase Orders on Eque2 Construction software and keep the Procurement Schedules updated.
• Order Tracking: Monitor orders to ensure they align with the plan and are delivered correctly and on time.
• Paperwork Management: Handle all necessary paperwork, ensuring stock is tracked to specific project numbers for accurate cost allocation.
• Stock Control: Maintain accurate daily records of stock movement.
• Usage Tracking: Monitor stock usage to determine frequently used items, enabling safe bulk buying at optimal prices.
• Site Coordination: Coordinate with sites to ensure timely delivery of all materials.
• Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as instructed by the commercial team.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a procurement role within the construction industry is preferable but not essential. Experience in bulk buying is highly desirable.
• Experience procuring materials such as glass, ironmongery, components, doors, seals, packers, adhesives, timber, fabric panels, MFC panels, Rockwool, and plant (toolboxes, podiums, drills, etc.), including arranging equipment hire, is highly advantageous.
• Competent in using computers and software relevant to the role.
• Ability to create detailed delivery schedules.
• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
