Bury St Edmunds

We have a great opportunity for a Bookkeeper/Management Accountant to work for our clients who is a leading provider of agriculture, environment and planning consultancy services.

You will be will be responsible for the companies internal Bookkeeping and preparing monthly management information and as such will need to have 5 years bookkeeping/accountancy experience.

Responsibilities will include:

Prepare detailed monthly management information management accounts, month end financial results, monthly key performance indicators and capacity reporting.

Completion of all monthly bookkeeping and accounting activities production and recording of sales invoices, recording and paying purchase invoices, bank reconciliations, sales and purchase ledger controls, VAT Returns, pension payments, accruals, journals, prepayments etc.

Assist with year-end financial accounts

Liaise with 3rd party payroll provider and process payments

Ensure legal compliance including preparing the business for HMRC and other requirements, eg MTDITSA

Work closely with the Business Manager, including strategy delivery, AML compliance

The successful applicant requires the following skills:

At least 5 years bookkeeping experience

Excellent analytical and numerical skills with the ability to clearly communicate to aid decision making

Be competent with accounts software programmes, i.e. Sage, Xero or QuickBooks, and production of management information with an ability to interpret the figures

Good attention to detail with effective time management skills

The ability to function both as a focused individual and team player whilst remaining confidential

Have good IT skills: Excel is used extensively

Experience of time-use recording systems would be desirable

An interest in UK agriculture would be advantageous
