Job Title: Electrical Biased Automation Engineer
Salary: circa £45k
Sector: FMCG
Location: Suffolk, UK

Overview:

Our client who is a major FMCG company based in Suffolk, are seeking an experienced Electrical Biased Automation Engineer to contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of our automation systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong PLC background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities:

Software Design and Documentation:
Create software design specifications and associated documentation for automation solutions.
Develop PLC code in accordance with ISO procedures and defined standards.

GAMP Documentation:
• Develop and manage GAMP documentation, including URS, FDS, DDS, FAT, SAT, IOPQ, etc.

Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with other Engineers on the implementation of SCADA software.
• Liaise with clients during functional development, requirements capture, and post-acceptance queries.

PLC Programming:
• Utilise PLC programming software for Schneider, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi & Motorola PLCs/RTUs.
• Provide support for front end SCADA development.

Training and Support:
• Train clients on the use of applications once implemented.
• Maintain consistency in quality throughout all projects.
• Support day-to-day breakdowns and electrical repairs on-site.

Project Maintenance:
• Ensure general all-round housekeeping of all PLC development projects.
• Maintain projects post-implementation.

Qualifications:
• Electrical Biased Automation Engineer with a demonstrable PLC background.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Methodical, logical, and consistent approach to design and deployment processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and analysis skills with a keen eye for PLC coding.
• Customer-facing skills with a professional demeanor.

Experience:
• Proven experience in PLC programming with front end SCADA development.
• Familiarity with PLC programming software for Schneider, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi & Motorola PLCs/RTUs.
• Experience in developing and managing GAMP documentation.
• Previous involvement in training clients on application use.
