Compass Point has partnered with one of the oldest and most established Engineering Businesses in Suffolk in their search for an Approved Electrician to join the team. This role has become vacanct following retirement after 50 years service! This organisation cares for its team and constantly develops their skills and has a training budget the envy of many of its competitors. They have a loyal customer base with many long standing contracts. All of their works is based in East Anglia meaning no nights away!
You will be given you own fully equipped van and the clock starts as soon as you leave home in the morning. This means there is ample overt time (paid at 1.5). No engineer hear earns less than £45,000 a year.

Core duties:

  • Carry out electrical installations and modifications in a compliant manner working to the current edition of The IET Wiring Regulation for Electrical Installations (BS7671)
  • Work on your own or in a large team on various customer sites across East Anglia
  • Completion of safety documentation, prestart check lists and point of work risk assessments
  • The accurate completion of in-house compliance documentation, job cards and electrical test sheets
  • Ensure that all accidents/incidents and near misses are reported within the Company guidelines
  • Carry out all work activities safely and in line with training
  • Completion of electrical isolations for all relevant works

  • The ability to carry out testing on electrical installations and correctly record the results for the production of electrical certification

Qualifications desired, but some training provided:

  • Level 3 City and Guilds Electrical Technical Certificate
  • NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations
  • City and Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
  • City and Guilds 2391 Test and Inspection Qualification (Approved Electrician Role)
  • A current valid JIB/ECS card
