Payroll Officer (Part-time) - Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk - 15 - 20 hours (flexible)

A great opportunity exists for a part-time experienced Payroll Administrator to work for a large family business.

You will be responsible for the processing and management of the payroll function for just under 50 employees. - (inputting, processing, reconciliation and audit maintenance). You will work closely with the HR team and Business Accountant and report into the Head of Finance.

Key Duties

Data input and reconciliation using Moorepay' payroll System

Maintain systems, processes, and controls within payroll to comply with GDPR regulations

To check calculations of all payroll entries including statutory payments SMP, SPP & SSP

Administration related to employee benefits (Pensions, Benefits in Kind (P11D), and Childcare Vouchers)

Preparation of files and information to be sent to HMRC, including any queries.

Produce, maintain, and reconcile monthly/annual excel spreadsheets, reports, journals and audit records

Work with our HR & Accounts Team to identify and detail any discrepancies

Annual Salary & Bonus file (twice yearly) planning and formulation including employee related administration tasks

Support online Payslips/P45s/P60 employee access

Deal with general payroll queries

Skills and Experience

Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a payroll department

knowledge of payroll legislation, employee entitlements and Tax and NI regulations

Highly trusted to deal with confidential information

Good numerical and analytical skills

Attention to detail and accuracy

Effective time management

Experience using Moorepay' or similar payroll system

Microsoft Excel intermediate to expert

Microsoft Office programmes

Good communication skills

CIPP payroll certification desirable
