Compass Point is partnering with a leading FMCG business in their search for an additional Multi-skilled engineer to join their highly professional engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your technical knowledge and receive a tailored training plan to further your engineering skill set.
Working a Panama shift pattern, Day and Night shifts, you will gain exposure to all elements of the plant's manufacturing process while being closely mentored to understand bespoke equipment. There is lots of positive change on site with significant incoming investment from the parent company. The site will soon be a centre of excellence within the group.
This role is ideal for someone who has recently completed an electrical apprenticeship or possibly finished service in the forces and looking to move into the FMCG sector.
Core responsibilities:
•Day to Day duties - Responding to breakdowns in a timely manner, carrying out scheduled repairs, improvement works and planned maintenance
•Ability to understand business needs, working to a defined schedule & where necessary prioritise own work accordingly
•Maintain inventory, highlighting shortages
•Use of CMMS to ensure we maintain a full and accurate asset work history
•As part of a team, strive to ensure KPI's are met
•Ensure all production equipment is maintained in good working order
•Identify machinery issues & continuous improvement opportunities
•Provide and maintain an excellent level of service to the business
•Identify gaps/efficiencies in PM schedules based on experience
•Ensure compliance with company H&S practices and procedures
Key Attributes:
•Electrical/Mechanical (70/30) trained engineer to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
•Elec/Mech fault finding with regards to maintenance and breakdowns
•Background working in a manufacturing environment
•Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills
•Good communication skills
•Strong ability to work cross functionally
