Compass Point has partnered with a leading Fresh Produce business in their search for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer on a Panama, Day shift pattern. The shift pattern means you will work every other weekend and have a long weekend when not working.

The business is part of a large group with long standing relationships with many major retailers. You will be working with 2 very supportive Engineering Managers who have developed a robust team structure and clear progression plan for their teams. In this role you will be given the opportunity to train for Electrical qualification and ultimately move to becoming Multi-skilled.

Core duties:

• To make mechanical repairs with general fitting, welding, and fabrication skills.
• To provide the site with electrical / mechanical support as required
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, servicing schedules and overhaul of site plant,
machinery, and equipment in accordance with site schedules as required
• Using the CMMS platform, ensuring all PPMs are carried out in accordance with the
schedule
• To update and input data into the CMMS system and communicate requirements through the
engineering team
• Work alongside the Maintenance Manager to supply overhaul kits for scheduled works.
• Proactively prioritise and own through to completion, tasks generated, and projects issued to
the team by the Maintenance manager or Head of Engineering
• Understand, participate, and support the delivery of site performance targets
• Advise and participate in process development and continuous improvement projects as
directed
• Maintain the engineering log and shift hand-over, recording all aspects of work carried out on
site plant, machinery, and equipment, to include details of faults, remedies, parts used,
relevant info and outstanding issues
• Observed risks to performance to be highlighted and escalated accordingly along with
suggested remedial plans
• Be open and receptive to any identified training requirements internal or external to business
• Work alongside third-party service engineers and contractors as needs arise
• Adherence to Company Personal Hygiene standards
