I am delighted to be working with a medium to large scale business in their search for a HR Administrator (Level 3 CIPD qualified) to support the HR function.

As a HR Specialist you will be responsible for the Schools HR policies and procedures as well as overseeing the recruitment of new staff, ensuring pre-employment and safeguarding training is complete, and for accurate data recording of all HR material.

Reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, you will also assists the Finance department as necessary, providing data relating to payroll and any other information required.

The HR Department is undergoing significant organisational development and it is highly likely that a HR Manager will be recruited in the near future. This will create a departmental structure and your reporting manager will likely change.

The primary duties of this role are:

•Raising the statutory job offer letter to new staff, and ensuring that all statutory checks required to employee staff in are complete
•Carry about DBS/barring/safeguarding checks as required
•Ensuring the employment handbooks for each staff category are reviewed on a regular basis
•Issuing of staff contracts, ideally with the job offer letter, but no later than 7 working days after the employee has accepted the role
•Ensuring all employee data is correct in both the finance system and the MIS, and that leavers and starters are processes in a timely manner
•Where staff accommodation is to be issued to a member of staff, ensuring the data is passed to the Operations and Estates Team
•Preparing the single central register of staff for audit on a regular basis to make sure it is accurate and up to date
•Complying with ISI regulations on recruitment
•Compiling job advertisements in accordance with the School's communication policy and the requirements of the employer. Advertising the role in an appropriate place.
•Working with the Compliance Officer to ensure training records of all staff meets compliance requirements
•Offering HR advice and support as required by staff
•Keeping sickness and holiday records
•Keeping the HR data recording system up to date and easily accessible to users

Additional Information:

•Hours: 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:30 and 17:00, flexibility will be given to the right person.
•Flexibility and overtime may be required to meet the needs of the department.
•Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
•Salary: £25,000-£28,000 - depending on experience
•Role to start January 2022 with interviewing December 2021
