Hybrid Working Covering Suffolk & Norfolk
Full Time, Permanent
I am delighted to be supporting a business with links to the NHS in their search for a Guardian to join their team. This is a niche role, requiring a specific skill set, not necessarily gained from college or university but more from life experiences and having the ability to listen and advise.
The main purpose of this role is to provide independent, confidential advice to all staff that require your services and support employees to find a self-determined resolution to their concerns, either in person or over the telephone.
This position would suit someone potentially from a HR background or with experience in counselling, acting as an advocate or generally just always being that person people come to for advice'! This is a fulfilling and rewarding role, where your services can make all the difference to our NHS service.
To be considered for this role, you will need to be pro-active due to the working from home nature, but also confident at speaking to professionals at board level, as this will be a large part of your role. You will also be required to travel to different locations around Norfolk and Suffolk on a regular basis, so access to your own transport is essential.
Main duties include:
•Promptly respond to initial telephone or email, contacts providing an empathic and non-judgmental approach.
•Arrange as soon as possible to complete conversations with contacting employees at mutually convenient times and venues. Maximise the use of telephone, skype, facetime etc. in order to facilitate speedy resolution.
•Escalate issues of patient safety and care in line with the agreed timescales for an NHS Trust client
•Escalate (anonymously when necessary) and remain in contact with the contacting employee and those in the escalation path to ensure a satisfactory resolution is agreed
•When required facilitate a meeting between a contacting employee and a colleague, escalating formally their concern (with their permission) in line with the agreed escalation path.
•Present the service to staff groups as required and on a regular basis. Agree a level of visibility with the NHS Trust and deliver accordingly.
•Write and keep accurate records and contribute to the evaluation of the effectiveness of the service as required, ensuring that reports are completed and recorded in a timely and accurate way
•Ensure that information and data are handled appropriately, and personal and confidential data are protected in line with GDPR requirements
•Work in accordance with the policies and procedure
•Proven management and organisational skills at a mid-management or higher level
•Demonstrable experience of interaction with mid-level and senior Executives, Directors and Non-Executive Directors in addressing concerns and issues.
•Proven experience of dealing sensitively with difficult issues, to act with integrity and maintain confidentiality as appropriate
•Experience in giving presentations to small and large groups
•Experience in communicating at all levels of staff from all disciplines and/or grades.
•Experience of planning and prioritising own workload, and working on own initiative
•Basic knowledge of Employment Law, the Equality Act and data protection
•Knowledge of HR policy and proven experience of staff management
•Hours: Monday to Friday 40 hour week (to be worked flexibly to suit)
•You will also be required to work on call from 8am 7pm Monday to Friday this will mean you will need to have access to your phone only.
•Salary: £40,000 + overtime
•Location: Home based for all administrative duties, however you will be required to attend sites at least 8 times a week, along with visiting employees for meetings off site
