One of our cients who are a leading health food business specilising in gluten free products are looking to recruit a Garduate to join and train in their business in the capacity of NPD Technologist.

You will work as part of the growing technical team and work on NPD projects as well as developing and maintaining quality systems

Specific duties include:

•Completing customer specifications
•Making and tasting of samples
•Requesting raw material samples and flavours from suppliers
•Sending samples to customers and suppliers
•Liaise with customers, suppliers, and couriers
•Preparing Tasting Panels
•Requesting information for new raw materials
•Carry out day to day checks on production and stores to check compliance to Food Safety and Quality Systems in place
•Prepare for BRCGS audit, help implement new procedures
•Day to day check and sign off production records
•Weekly GMP
•Monthly Hygiene audits
•Weekly CCP audits
•Inspection of incoming materials and non-conformance reports
•Complaints investigation and report writing
•Coordination of calibration activities
•Weekly swabbing of production and water sample collection
•Assisting and covering for Technical Manager in their absence

Education and Experience

•Educated to an HND/Degree level in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or related subject
•Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques
•Experience working in a food manufacturing environment in a technical or NPD role would be a benefit (such as a university placement)
•Scientific understanding of basic lab equipment
•A passion for food and NPD; high interest in food flavours and trends
•Driving Licence beneficial but not essential
•Excellent communication skills
•Evidence of strong team working
•Flexibility to work in a small, growing business environment
