Local organisation based in Bury St Edmunds are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their team.

You will be responsible for performing accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of purchase ledger invoices, statements, bank reconciliations and cash/card sales receipts.

Specifically you will be responsible for:

Processing and checking payment requests
Reconciling payments
Preparing accounts reports
Monitoring accounts and ensure payments are up to date
Resolving invoice discrepancies
Filing maintenance
Corresponding with customers and suppliers
Investigating and resolving customer queries

To be successful in your application you will have previous purchase ledger experience and ideally be studying towards AAT or equivalent. You will have strong attention to detail, a methodical approach and strong communication skills. You will be organised and have strong IT skills.

As travel to other sites may occasionally be required, you will need to have your own means of transport.
