Credit Controller
Up to £25,000

This company, who offer quality products to the building industry, are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their accounts team.

Reporting into the FD, and with study support on offer if relevant, they are looking for someone to develop the role over time. This role will be working in a small team offering the significant advantage of exposure to the whole Credit Control function so an understanding of risk, retentions and differing credit terms is essential along with an interest in and ability to forensically examine client accounts, understand what is due, when and why to ensure effective cashflow and reduce debtor days.

You will be responsible for:

Chasing outstanding debt
Developing relationships with clients
Ensuring full understanding of retentions and credit terms
Allocating payments
Bringing all outstanding debt up to date
Reducing debtor days through accurate analysis of what is due
Ensuring all documentation is updated and stored on-line
Implementing efficient procedures and relevant change
Checking sales invoices
Occasionally assisting with Payroll
Use of Sage and Excel

To be successful in your application, you will have previous Credit Control experience ideally within the building trade along with a strong understanding of retentions. You will have previous Sage and Excel experience. In interview you will be able to demonstrate what you have achieved in previous roles to reduce debtor days and increase cashflow. There is opportunity to implement change so a forward planner with strong organisational skills and previous experience updating procedures is sought. This role may suit candidates currently working as a Credit Controller, Accounts Assistant, Bookkeeper and/or Sales Ledger Clerk.

This role offers free on-site parking, the option for study support, 20 days holiday + Bank Holidays (of which 5 days need to be saved for Christmas shutdown) and the working hours of 8.30am - 5pm.

Due to location, access to your own transport is recommended as not easily commutable by public transport. The role is commutable from Stowmarket, Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, and all surrounding villages.
