Working in a small finance team, you will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the group costing system.
Key tasks will include:
Ensuring accurate costing of all data to contracts
Purchase ledger & subcontractors' invoices, factory materials issues etc.
Preparation of monthly contract cost reports, and issuing to Quantity Surveyors
Assisting Accounts and projects department in analysing and investigating job costings at month end
Investigating and resolving anomalies with goods received and invoices
Reconciliation of contract costs to financial accounts
Maintaining invoice register accruals
Reviewing old commitments and GRNs for write offs
Month End GRN Accrual control account
Analysis of PM & SM costed and uncosted time
Reconciling the stock valuation at month end
Reconciliation of contract costs and hours to financial accounts
Controlling and maintaining the monthly stocktakes
Maintaining stock records
Ensuring intercompany costs are correctly recharged and costed at each month end
Departmental queries and requests for information
Assisting in the smooth transition to a new accounting system
Assisting the Financial Controller and Management Accountant as required
To be successful in your application you will have previous experience of the above duties along with exceptional Excel skills (pivot tables, macros and v-look ups). You will be immediately available for work and be able to commit to a role for a minimum of 6 months.
Hours are 9am - 5.30pm
Hourly rate is £12.50 - £12.80 + holiday pay
