Their aspiration is to achieve full year sales in excess of £100 Million within the next four years. Having grown sales in excess of 30% during the previous 3 years they would like to find a seriously dynamic person who really can make a difference.
As Trading Director, you will be responsible for all aspects of trading through a team of negotiators, re-order buyers, pricing and admin.
Other duties include but not limited to:
-Maximising company profitability
-Creating, owning and delivering the trading plan
-Managing supplier negotiations and continually reviewing out buying effectiveness and efficiencies.
-Crafting a category management plan to optimise sales and profit
-Leading individuals in order to motivate them to continue developing their categories
-Optimising supply chain management to ensure a high service level to customers whilst keeping stock holding to plan and minimising waste.
-Maintain our pricing policy to customers to ensure competitiveness while achieving margin targets.
-Serving as a business representative at major events, conferences, trade shows and exhibitions
Due to the seniority of this role it is likely that you have received a higher education and probably some formal business type education. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present to every level of person. An ability to create and maintain positive relationships as is skill in closing major trading deals with blue chip suppliers.
Preferably you will come from an FMCG background. Experience and a proven track record are essential with leading a team responsible for supplier negotiations, category management, supply chain management.
Category management will be a key component of the role.
