This company, a market leading local brand, are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their team to cover a period of maternity.
A key member of the finance team, you will be reporting into the Financial Director and will be responsible for:
Posting Petty Cash and related reconciliations
Maintaining the Cashbook
Processing Bank receipts
Checking Nominal postings
Month End Ledger Reconciliations
Costing reports for invoicing
Checking and overseeing all business costs including vehicles
Setting up new product categories and cost centres
Month end costing and nominal adjustments
Prepayment, Accruals and journal entries
Calculating Depreciation & Fixed Assets
Sales Ledger including invoice input
Maintaining Sales ledger accounts
Subcontractor Month End Submission and payments
Purchase Ledger payments
HMRC Tax monthly payment
Maintaining Holiday records
Inter Company Reconciliation
Year End Balance Sheet Reconciliations
To be successful in your application, you will have experience of all the above duties and be happy to work in a maternity contract role for a minimum of a year. You will be accurate, methodical and well organised. The ability to work using your own initiative is essential and you will be a strong problem solver. You will be IT literate, be able to meet tight deadlines working under pressure and be a good communicator.
Due to location access to your own transport is essential.
This role will suit candidates with experience working as Assistant Accountants, Accounts Assistants, Bookkeepers and Accountants.
The role is commutable from Bury St Edmunds, Stowmarket and all surrounding villages.
