This market leading manufacturing organisation, based on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds, are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead their finance team. Working alongside the UK Managing Director, you will be responsible for driving the business forward, aligning processes and procedures, ensuring all areas of the business are compliant.
You will be responsible for the Company's day to day financial, insurance, HR, payroll and accounting function, ensuring compliance with accounting and regulatory standards as well as the production of accurate management information, variance analysis, commentary and costing information.
Currently with line management responsibility for 2, this will be a hands on role.
Specifically you will be responsible for:
Sales Ledger invoicing
Purchase Ledger payments
All aspects of Credit control
Overseeing and/or undertaking monthly Payroll including the provision of all necessary information for payroll purposes e.g. P45/P46, Overtime, Shift Allowances, Sick Pay, Holidays etc.
Management of day to day working capital and cash flow, including supplier payments and monthly bank reconciliation
Undertaking and submitting quarterly VAT returns and Corporation tax
Preparation of a monthly Board Pack including monthly management information, comparison to budgets and historics, cashflow analysis and projections, with appropriate commentary
Preparation of annual budgets/cash flows
Assisting in the monitoring and maintaining adequate and relevant insurance policies
Ensuring the Company's financial records are retained in compliance with regulatory requirements
Providing an excellent support service to the business, ensuring finance related issues and enquiries are dealt with in a timely and appropriate manner
Developing appropriate systems and internal controls and ensuring these are monitored and maintained to meet the current and ongoing needs of the business
Liaising with external advisors on the preparation of statutory financial information Corporation Tax returns
Maintaining the Company fixed asset register
Ensuring that all Company Health & Safety and HR policies and procedures appropriate to the job holder are complied with
Proactively and positively contributing to senior management meetings
Assisting in the setting and delivering of certain budgets with a proactive approach to ensuring the company is receiving best value' from its various suppliers
Developing good working relationships with external stakeholders and suppliers in a professional manner to ensure the best interests and reputation of the company are preserved and enhanced
Carrying out any other duties, such as ad hoc projects, as requested by either the Managing Director or the Board of Directors within the skills and knowledge of the jobholder.
To be successful in your application you will be a fully Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent). You will have manufacturing industry experience and a good understanding of costings. You will have ERP systems experience along with strong Excel skills.
Standard hours for the role will be 8am 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am - 1pm on a Friday (due to the nature of the role there will be some flexibility required and additional hours according to business needs).
