Field Service Technician
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

We are currently working with a well established company in Sudbury to recruit a Field Service Technician. This role will be mainly based in the office but with the ability to visit clients worldwide and throughout Europe, commissioning and servicing pneumatic conveying equipment and providing technical support to customers and in-house engineering/project teams.

•Co-coordinating and carrying out equipment start-ups and technical service calls and related activity reports
•Designing customer specific control systems (pneumatic and electric) including writing Bills of Materials and PLC programs
•Participating and carrying out equipment and application testing
•Providing trouble-shooting and technical support to customers and in-house engineering and project teams
•Participating in project execution by specifying parts and communicating with suppliers
•Liaising with customers concerning their requirements
•Preparing site visit reports and other reports, maintaining and updating the in house database
•Participating in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals

The successful candidate will have:
•Basic mechanical skills and general interest in mechanical systems and solving mechanical problems
•Ability to travel domestically and internationally
•Familiarity with electrical and pneumatic circuits
•Familiarity with PLC programming (Siemens or Allen Bradley), however training is provided
•Ability to read AutoCAD drawings related to the duties
•Proficient computer skills (AutoCAD an advantage, Microsoft Office)
•Effective communication (verbal and written) skills
•Ability to act independently based upon knowledge of equipment, company operations, policies, and procedures
•Ability to initiate activity, handle multiple projects simultaneously and achieve results
•Excellent people skills and energetic and positive personality
•Ability to work calmly under pressure to targets and time schedules
•Service Orientation - Actively looking for ways to help customers and staff
•Full, clean driving license

Experience and Education:
•HND / HNC in electrical engineering or equivalent technical degree
•3 years of relevant experience in a technical role, preferably in machinery maintenance
•Training will be provided
