I am working with a client to recruit a General Manager for the Engineering division of the company. They are looking for an all-rounder to manage the team, allocating tasks to match individual skill sets, managing budgets and client liaison. The role has become available due to a reallocation of skills within the company. They are a well-established company with a great relationship with long standing clients throughout the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
•Managing activities to ensure work is completed on time
•Ensuring work is executed in a safely manner exceeding company and legal guidelines.
•Producing risk assessments and method statements for safe execution of the works.
•Put in place measures to ensure accurate implementation of all engineering controls and compliance with the current legislation.
•Constantly seeking to improve company systems and procedures
•Operational management and motivation of both the internal engineering and repairing team, including resource planning, workflow control, productivity and efficiency to regulations and legislations are complied with.

You will need:
•Build strong relationships cross functionally to ensure the team's technical expertise is fully utilised in support of business requirements.
•Facilitate training and development of the team.
•Timely completion of appraisal process and delivery of individual development needs.
•Proven technical experience from a mechanical background with knowledge of lifting equipment.
•Proven ability to coach and manage a team.
•Able to plan ahead and be aware of changing and conflicting priorities.
•Displays excellent communication skills, strong leadership and a flexible approach and the ability to adapt to a changing environment.
•Displays enthusiasm and commitment. Willing to own problems and take responsibility for actions.
