Temporary Part-time Purchase Ledger Clerk/Accounts Assistant (20 hours a week)
Outskirts of Bury St Edmunds
£10.26 per hour

This company, based on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds, are seeking an experienced part-time Purchase Ledger Clerk/Accounts Assistant to join their team for 3 months (likely to be extended to at least 6 months and possible perm). This role will be working 20 hours a week across 5 days (10am - 2pm).

You will be supporting the Credit Controller/Accounts Assistant and Financial Controller by ensuring the efficient and effective processing of financial transactions on behalf of the organisation.

Purchase Ledger Control registration of invoices onto the accounts system, sending out to authorisers and input of authorised invoices onto the accounts system
Production of payment runs, supplier and expenses and associated Remittances
Maintain record of suggested payments
Maintain KPI data
Assisting the Financial Controller & Accounts Assistant with the Year end and Audit process
Responsible for the recording of Petty Cash transactions and payments out in conjunction with the Financial Accountant
Matching of purchases and haulage to orders
Maintaining forex rates on accounts systems
Accurately record new supplier information onto the Accounts & CRM systems as appropriate to the accounts process
Ensuring adequate supplies of accounting stationery
Maintenance of Purchase Order pads and issue of
Communicate and coordinate with internal departments
Carry out administrative duties such as answering telephones, filing, copying and scanning accounting paperwork
Provide cover for Accounts Assistant duties when required
Provide assistance for other departments when required
Any other administrative duties as requested by the Accounts Assistant or Financial Controller

To be successful in your application, you will have previous Purchase Ledger experience and be happy to work 20 hours a week across 5 days. You will be a bright character - outgoing, friendly and professional as well as being flexible and adaptable in your approach to work.

This role would be suitable for candidates who are immediately available for work and who have experience working as Accounts Assistants, Purchase Ledger Clerks or Bookkeepers.

You will be looking for part-time work and be happy to work 20 hours per week across 5 days.

This role is commutable from Bury St Edmunds, Diss, Eye, Thetford, Newmarket, Stowmarket and all surrounding villages.
