Job Description:UK Finance Manager
£45,000 - £50,000

Recruiting a new UK Finance Manager due to natural churn, this role offers the ability to shape and mould the organisation business partnering alongside the MD to double the size of the business over the next 3-5 years.

This role would suit a Qualified Accountant and the main responsibilities of the role will be:
Working as part of the UK Operations Management team responsible for development and execution of the department's strategic and tactical objectives
Delivering targets and commitments in relation to Quality, Sales, Overhead Costs, Delivery Performance, Inventory, Standard Costs, Environmental, Health & Safety, Plant Maintenance and Employee Welfare & Development throughout the facilities
Accountability for the effective use of the Financial Management System ensuring total legislative compliance and delivering company reporting requirements in an accurate and timely manner
Designing and/or executing process improvement projects related to Productivity and Business Process Reengineering to ensure that improvement goals are met or exceeded
Creating an environment conducive to continuous and breakthrough improvement whilst promoting similar behaviours amongst staff members in all departments
Interfacing with counterparts at all levels of the business to ensure the timely supply and receipt of information
Identifying and supporting Capital Projects that will help secure profitability growth for the region
Maintaining an effective communication process to all levels within worldwide manufacturing and logistics operations to ensure that harmonised improvement and development goals are fulfilled and exceeded
Undertaking all aspects of financial management for two separate UK legal entities with revenues of circa £5m
Corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation and monitoring as well as development of internal control policies and procedures
Managing all accounting operations including Payroll administration, Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements
Supporting month-end and year-end close process
Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
Managing and complying with government reporting requirements and tax submissions
Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Maintaining target fleet growth levels and rental occupancy rates in order to deliver revenue, EBITDA and profitability targets
Developing and maintaining adequate knowledge of HGV Government Legislation you will be responsible for the companies O Licence', managing all aspects of Vehicle Compliance (Type Approval VCA & IVA)
New Vehicle Sourcing and Purchasing as well as arranging and monitoring third party Vehicle Fit Outs and the associated installation of equipment
Planning, Scheduling & Controlling Maintenance on both Vehicles and Machines whilst ensuring vehicles are Taxed and have valid MOT certificates
Dealing with Manufacturers Vehicle Recall Notices and maintaining the Government Insurance Database for Vehicles
Ensuring that all damage to vehicle bodywork is repaired quickly and that vehicles are properly Cleaned and Valeted at each changeover and all paperwork is submitted and completed accurately
The right candidate for this role will be a Qualified Accountant, ideally degree educated, with previous experience of the above duties, This is a sole Finance role and as you will be responsible for the 2 UK entities, some UK travel will be required, The company are also part of a larger Group so some European travel will also be required. You will be happy to get stuck in - one of the first jobs will be to assist in the relocation of the site from Mildenhall to Thetford!
You will have strong IT skills including advanced Excel skills and some payroll experience is desirable.
