Senior Payroll Administrator
Bury St Edmunds
Up to £24,000
Local organisation is currently seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Administrator to join their established team. Reporting into the Assistant Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with the production of weekly, fortnightly, four weekly and monthly payrolls.
Duties will include:
Sending all P45/46 for starters to HMRC
Processing all leavers off the system
Submitting P45s to relevant bodies
Updating the system to reflect any changes to employee details
Ensuring the timely and accurate processing of all authorised amendments to the payroll system including sickness, maternity and paternity payments
Liaising with HMRC where appropriate
Processing sickness, maternity and paternity payments in accordance with HMRC legislation
Processing company absence payments where authorised
Undertaking cleansing of information to ensure that information held is adequate and relevant
Assisting the Head of Employee Services in the production off statutory returns, year end documentation and other reports as necessary
Assisting with the provision of payroll related information and guidance to the operational employees at all levels in the business
Maintaining a monthly payroll file containing all P Forms and appropriate changes
Arranging payments of statutory deductions to third parties
Completing all other deductions in the same way as for statutory deductions
Working closely with HR to ensure the prompt resolution of pay related grievances and Employment Tribunals
Undertaking additional duties as required by your line manager
To be successful in your application you will have recent significant Payroll experience and a thorough knowledge of payroll and associated legislation. You will be able to work to tight deadlines and possess strong communication and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) skills. You will be a team player, customer focused and be committed to providing quality services. You will have a flexible attitude to work and demonstrate a high standard of integrity, confidentiality and discretion.
