National Account Manager

Our client, in the FMCG / Food Manufacturing industry, is recruiting for an Account Manager to build and develop new relationships with key clients in one of the top retailers. You will be based within an established team at the client’s site in Suffolk, East Anglia, but will be expected to travel nationwide to clients both within and outside of Suffolk.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for candidates who have worked for or with any of the major multiples. You will be focused on key categories within the business and will be responsible for driving growth & profitability ensuring the highest level of customer service to guarantee satisfaction and maximise sales in compliance with agreed targets.

 

The role:


• Establishing, maintaining and developing new and existing commercially beneficial relationships

• Achieving and exceeding business objectives, in terms of profit and turnover

• Account management of short shelf life products

• Solid product knowledge and knowledge of supply chain infrastructure

• Contributing towards the promotion and development of the product range

• Identifying, agreeing and implementing new business activity

• Maintaining and controlling stock and sales order processing systems

• Liaising with the clients to facilitate production planning

• Developing and maintaining up-to date knowledge of the market sector; trends, competitor activity and product lines

• Strategic planning, price negotiations, product development and trade driving activities

• Drive growth within the key categories through gaining additional share of the existing lines as well as developing opportunities within new areas 

• A proven track record in successfully managing commercial relationships and delivering growth

 

You will have prior experience working within the FMCG / Food manufacturing industry, having worked in a similar role previously. Experience of Account Management and Business Development within the FMCG sector is essential. You will be managing and working to targets and budgets and therefore must have had experience of this.

 

You will be a confident negotiator, and able to demonstrate strong communication and numeracy skills, as well as the ability to organise your workload in order to meet deadlines with in a defined timescale. You will be positive and determined, and able to utilise your confidence and intelligence to build successful relationships with your clients. Our client is looking for someone will show energy and drive from day one.
