Our client in the food-manufacturing sector is recruiting for a proactive and motivated Business Development Manager to join their successful team.
Key Responsibilities:
· Present recommendations for contingent supply to Sales Manager, Commercial Director & CEO
· Ensure clear communication of pricing with customers / internal
· Weekly communication of performance vs budget to Sales Manager - Food
· Managing personal & corporate expenditure within company guidelines
· Define and implement strategy for agreed account portfolio
· Report sales performance and customer engagement as required to Sales Manager
· Written reports to be circulated following all meetings with customers & suppliers – to Sales Manager & Commercial Director
The role holder will require an in depth understanding of the UK foodservice industry, with a particular awareness of wholesale and will maintain awareness of current and future developments within the area. Candidates from a fresh food / chilled food / meat/ fish / grocery food sales background will be considered for this job.
Previous experience as a National Account Manager or Business Development Manager with drive and enthusiasm is a necessity for this role.
The role holder will require 3 plus years experience in the Foodservice industry and should possess good verbal and written communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
You will be computer literate with a understanding of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
In return the company will offer a generous basic salary plus commission, car allowance and healthcare. The chance for the opportunity to progress to a more senior position exists for the right candidate.
You will have previous sales and business development experience within the Food service industry, originating from a strong food sales background, and able to demonstrate a proven track record in food sales and business development.
