My client, a leading UK manufacturer is looking to recruit a Sales Manager to develop and grow sales in both new and existing business with their clients across the UK. Building on recent investment and manufacturing facilities the business requires a confident and experienced sales manager to drive the business forward.
You will have previous sales experience within a technical/engineering sales capacity and have the ability and enthusiasm to learn the technical product range that the company sell.
The role will include occasional overnight stays as this is a nationwide sales job although you will be predominately based from their offices near Ipswich, Suffolk.
Your duties will include the following:
· Ensuring existing markets are well-served and key contacts are maintained
· Developing an understanding of key markets and products required to generate new business
· Working with the Engineering team to develop new and existing products to improve market acceptance and/or reduce manufacturing costs
· Be an active part of the management team guiding the business to improvements in all areas
· A willingness to participate at all areas of the business
· A willingness to challenge the accepted using engineering know-how and new thinking
Ideally you will have an engineering background with an understanding of metal and fabrication costs. You will have a strong personality, and be capable of carrying out a range of different roles within a smaller business. A proactive approach and a questioning mind that will help identify new opportunities for the business is also required. This is an exciting sales job where you will be able to make your mark within an SME and will be rewarded with a generous salary and an additional bonus structure.
